Michelin Guide 2024 Releases Top Hotels In The Philippines

The Michelin Guide 2024 has included six hotels in its list of go-to accommodations across the Philippines—including three from Manila, and one each from Siargao, Cebu, and Palawan.

The prestigious Michelin Guide has released its list of recommended hotels in the Philippines for 2024, with six entries in total. Three of the accommodations are in Manila, while the other three are spread across the archipelago’s top vacation destinations: Siargao, Cebu, and Palawan.

The Michelin Guide is one of the world’s most renowned, with many recognizing it for its meticulous selection process when it comes to choosing great hotels and restaurants. It is also where the Michelin Star rating system came from, a metric that many in the culinary world still hold in high regard today.

The Chosen Six

The six Philippine hotels in the guide are Amanpulo (Pamalican Island, Palawan), Crimson Resort & Spa Mactan (Cebu), Nay Palad Hideaway Siargao, Admiral Hotel – MGallery (Manila), Hotel Okura Manila, and The Peninsula Manila. As one might notice, a majority of the hotels on this year’s list are from Manila, showcasing that the country’s capital city has plenty to offer in terms of premium accommodations.

That said, many tourists flock to the archipelago for its stunning white sand beaches and pristine waters, which explains why Siargao, Palawan, and Cebu have also made it to the list with their top hotels.

Why They Are Great

Based on the guide’s descriptions of its chosen hotels, it’s clear that they prize accommodations with sophisticated, spacious, and practical designs that carry an air of timelessness. Even if these hotels take inspiration from old world architecture, there’s always that touch of modernity that keeps them relevant to today’s discerning traveler. The presence of delicious F&B options are also a must for many of the city’s entries.

As for hotels outside of the metro, the guide highlights their seamless connection with their natural surroundings (namely the stunning beaches), as well as how good their villas and facilities are based on factors like privacy, the quality of amenities, and comfort.

Each hotel on the list has already garnered merits from local visitors, so getting the thumbs up from the Michelin guide shows that these establishments are truly a cut above the rest in hospitality.

The release of these hotels also hints that the Michelin Guide will be releasing its list of top restaurants in the Philippines very soon, so foodies certainly have something to look forward to.
