An Uma Nota Christmas: Indulge In A Feast Of Festive Magic

Uma Nota’s exclusive Christmas menu invites diners to celebrate the holidays with a roster of festive dishes that represent the rich, nuanced flavors of Brazil and Japan. 

This December, Brazilian-Japanese bar and restaurant Uma Nota invites guests to celebrate the holidays like never before with two exclusive menus for the Christmas celebrations. Made with sharing in mind, each menu features festive dishes that combine Brazilian and Japanese flavors with aplomb, making them sumptuous options for gatherings of all kinds, whether it’s brunch or dinner.

Christmas Dinner Spreads 

Uma Nota’s Dinner Menu is available on December 24 and 25, 2024, and offers a bold spread of contrasting, vibrant flavors that are sure to entice the tastebuds. 

The menu begins with a rich amuse bouche, Truffle Pão de Queijo: a Brazilian-style truffle cheese bun that’s crisp on the outside with a warm, soft center. The starter is a refreshing Gallagher Premium Oyster from Ireland, served on top of a bed of ice and soaked in a passion fruit tiger milk that offers just the right amount of tartness, creating a lovely medley of salt and acid. Next is the Nigiri selection, composed of a trio of Akami (the leanest part of the tuna), Hotate (scallop), and Salmon nigiri. Eat them as is or with a sprinkle of soy sauce: dollops of housemade toppings like the furikake and salsa, and rice sweetened with molasses are delicious combinations in themselves.

Before the mains, sink your teeth into the restaurant’s signature coxinhas (Brazilian croquettes). While the bestseller on its regular menu is the Coxinha De Frango (a mix of chicken and okra), Uma Nota’s Chef Andres Rendón decided to give it a festive twist with the Coxinha de Caranguejo, a croquette made from local crab and Chilean prawn. Of course, like all the restaurant’s coxinhas, the dish is served with an addictive homemade chili sauce with plenty of umami

Moving onto the mains, Uma Nota starts with a Peixe Baiano: whole seasonal butterfly fish with Bahia moqueca sauce and roasted bell pepper (in the style of the traditional Brazilian fish strew), completed with crunchy cassava crackers and fragrant cilantro. Then comes the Frango de Natal, a truly holiday-inspired whole roasted baby chicken with crisp skin, stuffed with fragrant truffle rice and served with a side of roasted potatoes and dried fruit. 

Capping things off on a sweet note is Uma Nota’s French Toast, which comes with a festive twist of vanilla ice cream and truffle mixed berry marmalade—a perfect combination of savory and sweet. 

Christmas Brunch Feasts

Uma Nota also prepared a special Christmas Brunch Menu for those who want to celebrate the holidays bright and early. Starters include Gallagher Premium Oyster; Wagyu and salmon nigiri; Ebi (prawn) with coconut panko; and Wagyu on Brioche.

The Peixe Baiano is also part of the brunch menu mains, this time joined by the decadent Wagyu Picanha MB5. The meal is also paired with the Uma Nota Salad (mixed greens, akami tuna, avocado, mango, and Japanese dressing), followed by a mixed Chef’s Dessert Platter that marks a sweet celebration of the season.
