The retail experience is therapeutic for many. Going into a store, choosing what you like, trying things on, sipping champagne, and eventually swiping your card to make a purchase—all while having fun conversations with your companions—shopping becomes an occasion. Whether buying or renting, the experience of exploring multiple options and finding the right piece is exhilarating. Shopping is therapeutic because it offers a sense of control—it puts you in charge of the situation. It’s an addictive feeling, for sure. This feeling is what Rotacion recognized as an opportunity to innovate the fashion retail landscape.
In an exclusive interview with Lifestyle Asia, the founders of Rotacion, an elevated second-hand rental platform, shared the story of their brand—how it came to be, how it evolved, and what inspired them to create an experience-driven clothing rental concept.

The Foundations of Rotacion
Rotacion was founded by four friends who saw an opportunity to revolutionize the secondhand fashion retail scene in the country. Erica Dee, Nica Siy, Nona Amoncio, and Ged Poe shared one vision: to create a more intentional, elevated, and sustainable platform for clothing rentals.
Each person draws on their background to contribute to the creation of Rotacion. Erica, rooted in retail, brings a passion for curating and crafting experiences. Nica leverages her IT background to build effective systems. Nona leads PR and marketing, amplifying the brand’s message and reach. Lastly, Ged, the finance lead, ensures the brand’s financials align with its vision.
“It’s an unlikely mix—retail, tech, marketing, and finance—but that’s exactly why it works,” one of the founders shares.
However, before the establishment of Rotacion, there was the Nirvana Collective—a secondhand online platform where people could sustainably shop for chic clothes. It began as a post-pandemic passion project. Eventually, people began to yearn for in-person connection, so in October 2022, they hosted their first pop-up.
“We noticed something: the clothes, the real stars, weren’t getting the spotlight they deserved. That’s when Rotacion came into the picture. It was a natural evolution—a deeper commitment to sustainable style. We wanted to go beyond resale, introducing rentals to reduce overconsumption and give pieces more life,” Erica shared.
Pioneering An Experiential Escape
Rotacion is more than just a retail space—it’s a chic escape. Step inside and it feels like a walk-in closet, but with the ambiance of a speakeasy. “The Rotacion Suite is full of hotel-inspired touches—from cozy robes and branded slippers to a mini bar where you can sip a cocktail while getting ready,” Erica adds. There are also spacious fitting rooms where you can lounge with friends and spark conversations while trying on à la mode secondhand pieces.
To further enhance the experience, Rotacion partnered with Sipps, a Singaporean-inspired cocktail bar. The partnership is a natural extension of what Rotacion stands for: thoughtful curation, personal storytelling, and a touch of escape.
“For us, this goes beyond shopping. It’s about giving people a moment to indulge, to play, and to express themselves,” Erica further explains what Rotacion stands for.
Currently, the second-hand renting experiential store offers free bookings for the entire month of July. The brand also will soon launch their online platform, making being sustainably chic accessible and easy.
