To open the year, OMEGA revisits its most iconic chronograph with a subtle but striking shift in perspective.
OMEGA opens 2026 by turning a familiar story on its head, and quite literally. The Speedmaster Moonwatch, a chronograph recognized for decades by its balanced black dial, appears in two new versions that reverse the visual script while keeping the watch’s identity firmly intact.

Change With Purpose
The change begins at the dial, where black and white shades exchange roles to create a stronger sense of contrast and clarity. OMEGA achieves this effect through the Moonwatch’s signature step dial, built using a double-plate construction. The upper plate is finished in polished black, treated with layers of varnish and lacquer that give the surface a deep, glassy sheen. Beneath it, the subdials sit on a white base layer, also lacquered and framed in rhodium plating. The reversed layout carries through in subtle details. The minute track is printed in white on the main dial, while the subdials feature black minute tracks on white; it’s an intentional visual cue that defines the watch at a glance.
The Classic Speedmaster Elements Remain

Moving outward, the design stays rooted in Speedmaster tradition. A black ceramic bezel surrounds the dial, filled with a white enamel tachymeter scale that recalls the model’s tool watch origins. A box-form sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment protects the front, offering modern scratch resistance. The watch is worn on the familiar Moonwatch bracelet, finished with polished-brushed surfaces, and equipped with OMEGA’s patented comfort release adjustment system.
The collection is offered in two 42 mm executions. One is executed in stainless steel, with rhodium-plated hands and hour markers coated with white Super-LumiNova. The other is crafted in 18K Moonshine Gold, OMEGA’s signature yellow gold alloy. In this version, the hour-minute hands, subdial hands, and hour markers are made in the same gold hue along with white Super-LumiNova, joined by a central chronograph hand finished in PVD Moonshine Gold.

Behind The Legacy
At the heart of both watches is the OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3861. As the most advanced evolution of the Calibre 321, it carries forward the lineage of the chronograph trusted by NASA astronauts on the moon. Master Chronometer certification guarantees the highest Swiss standards of precision, performance, and magnetic resistance, allowing OMEGA to back each watch with a five-year warranty.
With these inverted-dial Moonwatch models, OMEGA rings in the new year by refining a classic, proving that even the most established icons can reveal something new when seen through a different perspective.
