The Virgin Labfest (VLF), the country’s festival of untried, untested, and unstaged one-act plays, is now accepting applications for its Writing Fellowship Program (WFP), with submissions open until April 30, 2026, 1159 PM.

About The Virgin Labfest XXI Writing Fellowship Program
Organized by the Artist Training Division of the Cultural Center of the Philippines, the two-week mentorship program runs from June 16 to 28, 2026, with hybrid sessions held via Zoom and at the CCP Complex. Selected fellows will take part in lectures, workshops, and script critiques, while also engaging in talkbacks with established playwrights and directors.

The program culminates in staged readings of the fellows’ works on June 28, as part of the 21st edition of the WFP. The Virgin Labfest 2026 runs from June 3 to 28, 2026 at the Tanghalang Ignacio B. Gimenez.
Submission Guidelines
Open to college students and young professionals aged 18 to 29, the program is geared toward those whose works have yet to be produced by a professional theater company, published in major literary journals (both national and international), or placed in national or international playwriting or screenwriting competitions.

Applicants must submit a completed form via tinyurl.com/VLFXXIWFPApplicationForm, along with one to two original plays in English or Filipino. Entries must be in PDF format (font size 12, double-spaced, 8.5 x 11 inches) and free of identifying marks, with a length that doesn’t exceed a total of 10 pages.
