TUDOR Introduces The Black Bay Chrono “Carbon 26″ For The 2026 Formula 1 Season

By

TUDOR celebrates this year’s Formula 1 season with the Black Bay Chrono “Carbon 26,” a lightweight carbon fiber timepiece inspired by the Visa Cash App Racing Bulls’ VCARB 03.

With its roots in motorsport dating back to the late 1960s—when drivers racing a Porsche 906 in Japan wore the brand on their wrists—TUDOR continues to celebrate its racing heritage through its timepieces. For the 2026 Formula 1 season, the watchmaker has created the Black Bay Chrono “Carbon 26,” a limited-edition chronograph inspired by the Visa Cash App Racing Bulls’ VCARB 03. Following last year’s “Carbon 25,” the new edition retains its lightweight carbon fiber construction while introducing a fresh hit of yellow to the dial, drawn from the race car’s engine cowling.

This season, the Black Bay Chrono “Carbon 26” accompanies Liam Lawson and rookie Arvid Lindblad on the track, giving the timepiece a direct connection to the racing world that inspired its design.

A Closer Look At The TUDOR And Formula 1 Watch

The first thing that catches the eye is the contrast. Its 42mm carbon fiber case and fixed carbon fiber bezel with tachymetric scale keep things dark and technical, while the domed “racing white” dial brings brightness to the mix. It also features a case back in titanium with PVD finish and custom engraving unique to the “Carbon 26.” Yellow accents echo the VCARB 03, while black carbon fiber sub-counters add another layer of texture. Even the strap joins in, pairing leather, rubber, and carbon fiber end-links with a tire-inspired pattern.

The 45-minute counter

There are plenty of familiar TUDOR signatures in the mix, too. The angular “Snowflake” hands, first introduced in the brand’s 1969 catalogue, sit against the bright dial with black outlines and Super-LumiNova® for readability. The layout keeps the sporty proportions of the Black Bay Chrono, with a 45-minute counter at three o’clock, small seconds at nine o’clock, and a date window at six.

How The Black Bay Chrono “Carbon 26” Is Built To Keep Up

Underneath it all is the Manufacture Chronograph Calibre MT5813, a self-winding mechanical movement with a column wheel mechanism, vertical clutch, silicon balance spring, and approximately 70 hours of power reserve.

It’s COSC-certified, meaning the movement has met the precision standards set by the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute. TUDOR takes that precision a step further by testing the fully assembled watch to a tighter tolerance of -2/+4 seconds per day. The calibre is derived from Breitling’s Manufacture Chronograph Calibre B01, with a high-precision regulating organ developed by TUDOR and exclusive finishes.

The Carbon 26 is perfect for the track, as its precision is unmatched

As with the VCARB 03 itself, every gram counts.  Carbon fiber extends across the case, bezel, end-links, and even elements of the dial, keeping the racing connection more than skin deep. Limited to 2,026 individually numbered pieces, each marked on the case back, the Black Bay Chrono “Carbon 26” commemorates yet another milestone in TUDOR’s evolving motorsport legacy.
