The beloved host celebrated his 80th birthday at the Marriott Grand Ballroom with close to 600 guests that included ambassadors, local government officials, business associates, celebrities and close friends. Testimonial videos from former Foreign Affairs secretary Albert del Rosario, business icon and diplomat Bobby Romulo, Ambassador Chuching Tambunting, SGV & Co. founder Washington SyCip, Senator and Philippine Red Cross chairman and CEO Dick Gordon, Dr. Vicki Belo, OPM Icon Jose Mari Chan, and Concepcion Industries’ Paing Hechanova deeply touched the celebrant. One of the highlights of the evening was a fashion show that featured Johnny’s four muses, Mellie Ablaza, Fortune Ledesma, Helen Ong and Betty Chua.
