The historical event for the Filipino fashion industry drew guests from all realms of business, design, pageantry, and the performing arts.
On August 29, Vogue Philippines was officially launched through a gala at Shangri-La The Fort, Manila. The event revealed the title’s maiden issue cover, which stars global Filipino-American model Chloe Magno.
Amongst the natural beauty of the lagoons of Bucas Grande, Surigao del Norte, Magno wears an abaca and nylon piece designed by Rajo Laurel. It was shot by British-born, half-Filipino, half-Egyptian photographer Sharif Hamza.

The historical moment for the Filipino fashion industry and its talent drew guests from all realms of business, design, pageantry, and the performing arts. “Through the content in Vogue Philippines and its platforms, we hope to showcase the Philippine fashion identity by connecting us to the global community,” says editor-in-chief Bea Valdes.

“Vogue remains the most powerful platform for fashion’s emerging talents and their diverse perspectives. It has always been at the crest of new aesthetics and mindsets, and we are thrilled to join the fold,” adds Valdes.
Per Archie Carrasco, chairman, and CEO of Mega Global Licensing, Inc. (MGLI), the Vogue Philippines team is composed of talent whose purpose is to “ uplift Philippine fashion.” Other members are Trina Epilepsia Boutain as digital editor, Rhoda Campos-Aldanese as publisher, Jacs Sampayan as managing editor, and Jan Pascua as art director.
