Legends Reimagined

Smith spilled the beans on this exciting news during a recent visit to the Red Sea International Film Festival in Saudi Arabia.

Picture the scene: Smith, in the midst of an in-depth conversation, casually dropping hints like breadcrumbs.

“I have a call with Michael B. Jordan tomorrow. The script just came in… I’m probably giving away too much information…” Well, we’re all ears, Mr. Smith!

Now, here’s the fascinating twist – in the original I Am Legend, Smith’s character, Robert Neville, met his demise.

But wait for it – tucked away in the DVD extras is an alternative ending where he survives.

Smith spilled the cinematic beans, saying, “We’re going with the mythology of the DVD version where my character lived. I can’t tell you any more, but Michael B. Jordan is in, and we’re doing it.”

I Am Legend was directed by Francis Lawrence and released by Warner Bros in late 2007. It was a box office sensation, grossing a whopping $585 million worldwide, with $256 million in North America alone.

The Oscar Slap

Now, let’s switch gears a bit. In the same conversation, Will Smith also touched upon the much-talked-about Oscars slap incident involving Chris Rock. While he didn’t directly address it, Smith acknowledged making mistakes in his life.

He also reflected on the challenges of fame and emphasized the need to stay focused on personal missions regardless of public opinion.

“Fame is a unique monster. You can’t get too excited when people say good things about you because then when people say bad things about you, you struggle and suffer more,” he remarked.

In a candid moment, Smith acknowledged the inevitability of mistakes, stating, “You’re going to make mistakes – I’ve made tons of my own mistakes.”

Responding to a shout from the audience expressing love for his mistakes, Smith quipped, “We all make mistakes.”

Closing on a light note, he shared his energetic approach to life, saying, “I love figuring things out; puzzles, problems. So I started making my own problems. Life is going too good, I need some problems!”
