Following the footsteps of other luxury brands like Giorgio Armani and Bulgari, Dolce & Gabbana partnered with Dar Global, the international arm of Saudi property developer Dar Al Arkan.

The CEO of Dar Global, Ziad El Chaar, said, “We are thrilled to bring the world-renowned Made in Italy brand ambassador, Dolce & Gabbana, into the world of real estate and hospitality.”

Dar Global has spearheaded several high-profile projects, such as Les Vagues by Elie Saab, a seafront residential development located in Qatar; Urban Oasis by Missoni Home found in Dubai; and Upside Living Villas in Riyadh, with interiors by Versace. Dar Al Arkan has operated within the real estate industry for nearly three decades. Just last year, they signed a deal with The Trump Organization to develop Trump resorts, villas, hotels, and a golf course.

Aside from the Maldives hotel, D&G has also disclosed plans for residential ventures in Miami, USA, and Marbella, Spain. D&G’s plan is to develop residential high-rises and hotels that will be infused with their signature design and brand ethos for their guests’ unparalleled lifestyle experience.

An example of the approach is the Armani Hotel in Burj Khalifa which features dark-colored palettes from beige to charcoal while furnishings are from their very own’s homeware collection, Armani Casa.

Other Italian fashion brands have also entered the hospitality space and they are growing. Armani already has two operational properties — one in Milan and another in Burj Khalifa in Dubai.

D&G hotels are in their early stages and an estimated completion date is yet to be announced as well as the size of the hotels, amenities, and architects.
