It seems like the professional athlete has made a big change in sponsors.
Jason Day, the 2015 PGA champion and former world number one in the official World Golf Ranking, has left Nike after almost eight years. Day has been with the sporting giant since 2016, with a $100 million deal according to Golfweek.

As we entered the new year, the athlete announced that he is teaming up with the LA-based brand, Malbon Golf. Day is currently in Hawaii for the first PGA Tour event of the year, the Sentry Tournament of Champions.
In the photos Day posted on X, he’s already sporting Malbon Golf apparel at the event. “It’s a new Day. Excited to be joining #teammalbon,” he wrote in his caption.
In an interview with Hypebeast, the brand’s co-founder Erica Malbon expressed that they were interested in partnering with athletes on tour. In February 2023, Yealimi Noh became Malbon Golf’s first ever official ambassador.
Meanwhile, Day is the brand’s first PGA Tour ambassador. In another interview with Hypebeast, Stephen Malbon described Day as “relatable, unapologetically himself, and embodies the ethos of Malbon.”
In the same article, Day expressed his excitement on working with the more fashion-focused brand. “This collaborative effort not only guarantees a stylish appearance but also emphasizes my commitment to both comfort and peak performance, allowing me to confidently focus on my game,” the athlete said.
“I’m excited to be able to go outside of the box and wear something that’s dramatically different to what everyone is used to seeing in golf today.”
