Celebrities Who Chose Castles For Their Dream Weddings

From the Beckhams to Madonna, stars love to pick grand castles for their weddings, making their special day feel like a royal event.

When it comes to famous faces tying the knot, they spare no expense in making their weddings as regal as possible.

Over the years, we’ve witnessed extravagant celebrity weddings, from multi-day celebrations in far-off destinations to multi-million dollar affairs.

Some celebrities splurge on dazzling rings, while others aim to make a statement with their wedding gowns.

However, the most opulent choice some celebrities make is to say “I do” in an actual castle!

David & Victoria Beckham

In 1999, David and Victoria Beckham went all out when they exchanged vows at the Luttrellstown Castle just outside Dublin.

The venue’s price tag? A whopping $800,000.

Their intimate ceremony, attended by a mere 29 guests, included the release of a dove as they sealed their union.

To make it even more special, a flag bearing the initials “V. B. D.” was hoisted above the castle, representing Victoria, David, and their infant son, Brooklyn.

For their reception, the Beckhams hosted a larger group of guests, including the Spice Girls, Elton John, and some of David’s Manchester United teammates.

Fun fact: this castle has since been transformed into a luxurious five-star resort!

Kourtney Kardashian & Travis Barker

Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker took the concept of extravagant weddings to a whole new level by getting married not once, not twice, but three times.

After a ceremony in Las Vegas and a courthouse wedding in Santa Barbara, the couple jetted off to Portofino, Italy, for their third nuptials.

Their wedding reception took place at the majestic 16th-century Castello Brown.

“I can’t pick my favorite wedding. I loved them all,” Travis confessed during their wedding special on Hulu, ‘Til Death Do Us Part Kourtney & Travis.’

Avril Lavigne & Chad Kroeger

Over a decade ago, Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger chose the Château de la Napoule, a 14th-century castle in the South of France, as their wedding venue in 2013.

Though their marriage has since ended, their big day was a spectacle.

Lavigne walked down the aisle in a striking black tulle Monique Lhuillier gown, carrying a bouquet of black roses.

Katie Holmes & Tom Cruise

In 2006, Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise’s star-studded reception took place at the Odescalchi Castle in Lake Bracciano, Italy.

This 15th-century castle is one of the best-preserved in all of Italy, providing an enchanting backdrop for their special day.

Madonna & Guy Ritchie

Madonna, known for her extravagance, married Guy Ritchie in Skibo Castle, located in the picturesque Scottish Highlands, in 2000.

The castle, also known as the Carnegie Club, is now an exclusive residential club, adding an extra layer of luxury to their already opulent celebration.

In the world of celebrity weddings, opulence knows no bounds, and for some, the only fitting backdrop is an actual castle.

These extraordinary love stories remind us that when it comes to tying the knot, the sky is the limit for those who want to make their special day a true fairy tale.
