The Princess penned the message ahead of her first public appearance this year.
In a message posted to social media and news outlets, Kate Middleton shared a deeply personal update on her journey as she continues to deal with cancer.
In the same announcement, she shared that she would be making an appearance at the King’s Birthday Parade, also known as the Trooping of the Colour.

On The Road to Healing
“I have been blown away by all the kind messages of support and encouragement over the last couple of months. It really has made the world of difference to William and me and has helped us both through some of the harder times,” the Princess wrote.
On Instagram, the post is accompanied by a new photo of Princess Kate, taken by photographer Matt Porteous on the grounds of Windsor Castle.
“I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days. On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting. But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well.
“My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months. On the days I feel well enough, it is a joy to engage with school life, spend personal time on the things that give me energy and positivity, as well as starting to do a little work from home.”
Along with announcing that she would be attending the Trooping of the Colour, the Princess also shared that she hopes to join a few public engagements over the summer.
“I am learning how to be patient, especially with uncertainty. Taking each day as it comes, listening to my body, and allowing myself to take this much needed time to heal,” she continued.
“Thank you so much for your continued understanding, and to all of you who have so bravely shared your stories with me.”
Making an Appearance
A day after releasing the message, Princess Kate attended Trooping the Colour with the rest of the royal family. She rode in a carriage along with her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
Later, they all appeared on the Buckingham Palace balcony along with Prince William and King Charles, who is also undergoing cancer treatment.
This marks Princess Kate’s first public appearance since December 2023. She was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year and has been recovering in private.
The Princess donned a Jenny Packham dress and a Philip Treacy hat for the festivities. She previously wore this dress in May 2023, during a pre-coronation event for King Charles. The dress was updated with a striped waistband and a bow at the neckline.
A Buckingham Palace spokesperson said that King Charles was “delighted” about Princess Kate joining the event. A royal source also said that the Princess wanted to be there to support her family.
