But hey. They say that bad publicity is still publicity.

This is why despite the lows of his personal life, the rapper remains afloat with the highs of his music and fashion career.

Here are the most recent controversies involving West, based on news reports published just this week.

Bakery chain roasts West

West previously released designer trainers through his Yeezy brand.

The brand has since solicited opinions on the Yeezy 450 Sulfur through social media.

UK-based bakery chain Greggs unflatteringly compared the shoes to sausage rolls.

Firm says Ye must pay

Los Angeles-based production company Phantom Labs has sued West for allegedly owing them over $7.1 million in unpaid fees.

It cited work on the rapper’s “Donda 2” livestream release show, his canceled Coachella performance, the “Free Larry Hoover” concert, “Sunday Services,” and his studio spaces.

“We are incredibly proud of the work that we did with Ye and are disappointed that such a fruitful relationship has come to this,” a spokesperson for Phantom Labs said in a statement.

Kanye vs Nicki

West has also figured in a “rap battle” with Nicki Minaj.

The latter has broken her silence about their unreleased collaboration “New Body.” Originally recorded for West’s scrapped album Yandhi and then reworked for Jesus is King—only for the musician to remove it last-minute.

“So what I thought was interesting was that Kanye made me write my ‘New Body’ verse four times over in order to fit into where he was creatively and spiritually in his life, right. Onlly then do I go on the internet a few months later to see him on Drink Champs, rolling a blunt and smoking or whatever he was doing,” Minaj said in a recent interview.

She then poked fun at his short-lived gospel era: “I missed it by a year, I guess.”

West has since unfollowed Minaj on social media after she called him a “clown.”
