‘Annie’ Receives Standing Ovation

Fullhouse Productions’ ‘Annie’ received a thunderous standing ovation on its Gala Night performance at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Resorts World Manila last Friday. The musical that made Lea Salonga a star in the early 80’s rekindled its love affair with Filipino audiences with its inspirational story about an orphan played this time by the charismatic and charming Isabelli Araneta Elizalde. Belli as she is fondly called enthralled the audience with her pristine voice and unaffected performance brimming with confidence as she sang the musical’s iconic songs Tomorrow, Maybe and You’re Never Fully Dressed Without A Smile. Members of the Araneta, Elizalde and Revilla family came in full force to watch their very own Belli shine on stage. A reception was held after the show where the cast was able to greet their family, friends and fans.

The Strouse-Charnin musical directed by award winning actor Michael Williams brought together some of Philippine Theatre’s finest actors Michael De Mesa as Dddy Warbucks, Menchu Lauchengco Yulo as Miss Hannigan, Mill Peña as Grace Farrell, Red Concepcion as Rooster and Justine Peña as Lily St. Regis.

‘Annie’ will run every weekend until December 4, 2016.
