Bloomberg reported that Apple will hold its launch event on September 7. Meanwhile, BGR expects the iPhone 14 series lineup to likely launch to the public on September 14.
If true, the timeframe would mark Apple’s earliest iPhone product launch since it moved releases to the fall calendar. In other words, it’s the earliest release since the iPhone 4S over a decade ago.
The iPhone 12 and iPhone 13, to put things into perspective, both launched in October of their respective years. This is due to the chip shortage that has adversely affected technology companies worldwide.
“The global recession risk is still growing and unpredictable, so announcing/shipping the iPhone as soon as possible may minimize the impact of recession risk on demand,” TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo posted on social media.
The analyst said it could explain Apple offering a positive outlook for 2022’s third quarter from the last earnings call.
In a research note that MacRumors obtained, analyst Dan Ives revealed iPhone 14 Pro models will see $100 price increases. He added that three of the four new iPhone 14 models will have higher prices compared to their predecessors.
Ives attributed this to component price increases and added functionality on the new iPhone 14 release. If correct, the prices would range from $799 (iPhone 14) to $1,199 (iPhone 14 Pro Max).
