Reportedly, the Oscar-winner started making art after his split with Angelina Jolie.
On Saturday, Brad Pitt made a surprise debut as a sculptor at Finland’s Sara Hildén Art Museum. The actor’s works were exhibited alongside Australian singer-songwriter Nick Cave (of the band Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds), who also made his artistic debut. In addition, works by British visual artist Thomas Houseago also joined the group show.

Pitt showcased nine sculptures at the show, including “Aiming At You I Saw Me But It Was Too Late This Time” (2020), which depicts a gunfight scene. His first ever piece, “House A Go Go,” (2017), is also showcased—an 18-inch house-shaped figure made of tree bark.
The year of the Academy Award-winning actor’s first creation was when he divorced Angelina Jolie. The couple has six children together, Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox, and Vivienne. Per CNN, Pitt started making ceramic art after his split with Jolie.
Brutal honesty
For the Fight Club star, creating art is about self-reflection, “It’s about where I have gotten it wrong in my relationships, where have I misstepped, where am I complicit,” he told Finnish broadcaster Yle News.
“It was born out of ownership of what I call a radical inventory of self, getting really brutally honest with me and taking account of those I may have hurt, moments I have just gotten wrong.”
