At Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan, the Philippines presents itself to the world through the language we speak most fluently: our artistry and talent.
Our National Day celebration, held at the Ray Garden of the Expo 2025 site, featured performances under the banner of “Hinabing Hiraya” or “Woven Imagination.” The presentation connects to the Expo’s Philippine Pavilion, which centers on the theme “Woven Together For a Better Future.” The pavilion itself represents the largest collaboration of Filipino community weavers in history: 121 communities, 2,331 weavers, and 212 handwoven textiles, with an interior exhibit anchored by handwoven art pieces. But this celebration of textile artistry arguably finds its fullest expression in its use by the Filipino people and performers.
We take a peek behind the scenes to see the performers in the moments before they take the stage, clothed in a mix of traditional garments and contemporary interpretations.

The Philippine Pavilion and National Day celebration is organized by the Philippine Organizing Committee through the Department of Tourism, Tourism Promotions Board, and Cultural Center of the Philippines.
