The street artist paints a black picture of the lifestyle brand.
Banksy has tagged Guess unflatteringly in a post as using his work without permission. The anonymous street artist even suggested shoplifting the brand to his over 11 million followers.
“Attention all shoplifters. Please go to GUESS on Regent Street. They’ve helped themselves to my artwork without asking. How can it be wrong for you to do the same to their clothes?” Banksy posted.
He even included a photo of the brand’s Regent Street store in central London.
The said store window display featured Banksy’s Flower Thrower graffiti, showcasing a new capsule collection from Guess. This was “created in partnership with Brandalised, an urban graffiti license whose mission is to offer Banksy fans affordable graffiti collectibles.”
Guess staff have since covered the window display after Banksy’s controversial post.
