Film Concerts PH will be kicking off its 2026 season with an orchestral experience featuring the sounds of two cinema score giants, performed by the Filharmonika Orchestra and conducted by maestro Gerard Salonga.
No two names in film music history evoke as visceral a response as John Williams and Hans Zimmer. The word “legendary” is often overused, but in the case of these two composers, even the most discerning cinephiles would agree—it fits perfectly. Soon, fans of their timeless scores will be able to relive these masterpieces as Film Concerts PH opens its 2026 season with “Film Music Legends: The Scores of John Williams & Hans Zimmer.”
It was only a matter of time before Film Concerts PH—which has been redefining live entertainment in the Philippines since 2024 through its innovative symphonic experiences—paid tribute to these two titans of cinema. This marks the group’s very first purely orchestral production, which will be performed by the Filharmonika Orchestra and conducted by Gerard Salonga. The shows will take place on January 14 and 15, 2026, at The Theatre at Solaire.
John Williams, whose illustrious career spans more than six decades, holds the distinction of being the most Oscar-nominated living individual and is widely regarded as one of the most influential composers in film history. Hans Zimmer, meanwhile, has transformed the landscape of film scoring with his trailblazing fusion of electronic and orchestral sound, earning Academy Awards, Golden Globes, and Grammy Awards along the way.

What To Expect At Film Music Legends
Audiences can look forward to a journey through some of cinema’s most unforgettable scores, performed in a concert hall setting that reveals the nuances and grandeur of their symphonic sounds. The evening also features Bituin Escalante, the Philippines’ “Stellar Diva,” whose powerhouse vocals will bring to life select themes from Dune and Gladiator. With a career spanning 25 years, Escalante has earned multiple Awit Awards and widespread acclaim for her commanding performances across stage, screen, and concert halls.
Here are some of the iconic pieces to expect at the concert, which will be divided into two impeccable acts.
ACT I: JOHN WILLIAMS
Selections include original scores from Jaws, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Schindler’s List, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, Hook, Jurassic Park, and Indiana Jones.
ACT II: HANS ZIMMER
Selections include original scores from Top Gun, Dune, Interstellar, The Dark Knight, Pirates of the Caribbean, Gladiator, and The Lion King.
With over 90 minutes of cinema’s most recognizable sounds, “Film Music Legends” marks an extraordinary beginning to Film Concert PH’s 2026 season.
