The glove dated 1927-33 came from the Jimmy Austin collection, according to sports memorabilia auctioneer Hunt Auctions.

It drew national and international interest prior to its final sales price reaching the final record.

The Professional Sports Authenticator certified and deemed the glove as a possible match.

Even 1964 audio from “The Glory of Their Times” featured the sports item.

“This monumental glove is truly [one] of the most historic pieces of its medium to have ever been offered at public auction,” Hunt Auctions president David Hunt said.
