E! News reported that Robbie and Ackerley recently went on an Italy trip, where news that they are expecting circulated.
She was seen strolling along Lake Como with her husband with her baby bump on full display under her white crop top. The couple had a romantic boat ride that day.
The pair’s good news comes after eight years of marriage as they tied the knot in 2016.
The Independent mentioned that while their Italy getaway may have excited people all over the world, the couple has yet to confirm it on their end.
Robbie and Ackerley are known for keeping their personal lives private. Their engagement was never announced and they married in secret in Byron Bay, Australia.
“No one suspected”
Robbie was filming A Big Bold Beautiful Journey alongside actor Colin Farrell, according to an insider as reported by People. The insider, who is a set source, said the actress was so professional and focused while filming.
“She had long days, but it didn’t seem like a big deal to her,” said the source. “No one suspected she was pregnant.”
The source mentioned that during filming, she looked amazing and seemed very happy. She got along well with Farrell, too.
Aside from the set source, multiple insiders have also come forward to People to confirm the news. The couple’s representatives did not provide any comment about their baby on the way, People adds.
A seamless life together
Robbie and Ackerley co-founded a production company in 2014 as per Harper’s Bazaar, which they called LuckyChap Entertainment. They manage it with Josey McNamara and Robbie’s childhood friend, Sophia Kerr. The company aims to fill a gap in the film industry by supporting female-centered stories and storytellers.
Among the films the company produced are Tonya, Barbie, Saltburn, Dreamland, and Birds of Prey.
Outside their careers, the couple’s romantic bond is strong. In fact, when both are not working, they spend 24 hours together, chronicles The Independent.
“It’s seamless,” Ackerley said. “We don’t have a toggle on, toggle off. It’s all become one thing.”
Robbie also revealed through E! News that her husband has been nothing but supportive in her career. He, who is also an acclaimed actor, preferred to be behind the scenes. “I’m so lucky [to have him],” she remarked. “So lucky. He is not fazed by any of this [Hollywood] stuff. He’s just the best.”
