The recent exhibit “Convergence” at the Provenance Gallery showcased the masterpieces of renowned artists Betsy Westendorp, Ramon Diaz and Cesar Caballero with water as their common theme. The three artists who also happen to be good friends decided to put together their creative forces to mount an exhibit that is special to Betsy who had her last show in 2012. A video of Betsy retouching some of her paintings went viral the night before the show brought excitement among art collectors from all over the country. Most of them came the next day to see her masterpieces in person. More than half of her works including her major pieces were sold immediately.
The opening reception brought together some of Manila’s most prominent families such as Ambassador Tonet Lagdameo, Maricris Floirendo Brias, Tessie Luz, Deanna Ongpin Recto, Lorna Laurel, Sallie and Alessa Lopez, Benjy Toda and Allana Montelibano. Ramon Diaz’s wife Silvana, their son Marco and his lovely wife Kristal, along with his sisters Gloria Diaz, Ruby Diaz Roa and Cory Diaz were present as well. Betsy’s granddaughter, artist Cristina Grisar and a few members of the Brias family were seen at the affair.
