Popular Lots
Some of the most popular items are the artists’ signed guitars. Swift’s autographed Baby Taylor model acoustic guitar was initially estimated at $1,000 to $1,500. The current bid has already surpassed early estimates with $10,000. Styles’ 1999 Gretsch White Falcon electric guitar, signed with silver ink, is currently at $9,000.
MusiCares is also offering a 2019 Gibson Les Paul guitar signed by people who performed at MusiCares 2020 Person of The Year. These names include Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Brad Whitford, Taylor Hawkins, Dave Grohl, Alice Cooper, the Jonas Brothers, and John Legend among others.
Other notable lots include a Yamaha baby grand piano used by Fleetwood Mac’s McVie. During tours, she would play this piano while performing “Songbird,” often at the end of the concert.
A signed, hardcover edition of McCartney’s book The Lyrics: 1965 to Present has a current bid of $9,000. Meanwhile, Dua Lipa’s catsuit from her Future Nostalgia tour could fetch $3,000 to $5,000.
Proceeds from the charity auction will go to the MusiCares program. According to its website, it provides support to the music community through physical and mental health services, addiction recovery, unforeseen personal emergencies, and disaster relief.
