After a long hiatus, we’re ready to see new episodes of the tech themed anthology series.
An exclusive from Variety last year revealed that a new season of Black Mirror was in the works, after three years since the dystopian drama’s hiatus.
The sixth season will reportedly have more episodes than the previous one which only had three. Season five starred big names such as Andrew Scott, Anthony Mackie, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Topher Grace, and Miley Cyrus.

Casting news
Recent news says that Aaron Paul of Breaking Bad fame will be joining the next season, after a voice-over cameo in season four’s “USS Callister” episode.
Other cast members that have been announced include Danny Ramirez (Top Gun: Maverick), Zazie Beetz (Joker), Paapa Essiedu (I May Destroy You), Josh Hartnett (Lucky Number Slevin), and Kate Mara (House of Cards).
Deadline has also reported that Under the Banner of Heaven and Signs star Rory Culkin has signed up for the new season.
Multi-award nominee Salma Hayek and Schitt’s Creek star Annie Murphy are reportedly in talks to join the cast.
The Variety exclusive says that the new season will feature more episodes, with each one being treated as an individual film.
Creator Charlie Booker was asked about season six during the beginning of the pandemic. He said “At the moment, I don’t know what stomach there would be for stories about societies falling apart, so I’m not working away on one of those.”
Now that things are starting to go back to normal, fans of the show are excited to see what new and strange ideas they’ll bring to the table.
There is no release date at the moment, but filming looks to be well underway. Paul and Mara were already spotted filming in the UK together.
Beetz has also confirmed that she finished filming, saying that her character isn’t “having a lot of fun.”

“But I think there’s a really great tongue-in-cheek dark element to it, a premonition kind of element. The mirror reflecting back on us,” she added.
For now, it seems like the perfect chance to catch up on all the previous seasons while we eagerly await the next installments.
