In the last 12 months, Little Blue Chair has remained steadfast in its commitment to help.
Little Blue Chair has expanded its reach and broadened the type of support it provides since it was launched. It has been a year since the initiative was formalized through the philanthropic efforts of Charlie and China Cojuangco. Littlebluechair.ph was unveiled in August 2022 and pledges to beneficiaries were announced. But the couple has been consistently extending their blessings to the disadvantaged long before the introduction. Charlie’s legacy of generosity and kindness lives on despite his passing.
MEANINGFUL PARTNERSHIPS FORGED
Partnerships with non-governmental organizations (NGO) were forged. One of these partnerships is with the UGAT Lucena Association. Corporate secretary Alfred Lavarro says, “Our organization is very grateful for helping us fund 250 school chairs that will be donated to the Lucena National High School – Silangang Mayao campus.” He also adds that “The initiative by both organizations will truly make an impact in the learning and growth of the students.” Mirasol Outreach Foundation is another NGO that received assistance from the Little Blue Chair, for their Share-a-Joy and Balik Eskwela programs.

Church renovations were made possible. The dome of the San Santiago Apostol Parish Church in Paete, Laguna was repaired through the donation of Little Blue Chair. “Sa katandaan po ng simbahan namin ay talagang malaki na po ang sira at hindi nag-atubili ang Little Blue Chair na magpadala ng kanilang tulong pinansyal para maisaayos ang aming bubong ng simbahan,” relates Bro. John Joven Calipe, Parish Pastoral Council Moderator.
INDIVIDUALS RECEIVING A HELPING HAND
Individuals also received a helping hand. Some of the beneficiaries were DepEd Bataan’s guidance counselor, Joan Gerio and Enrique Zolina of South Cotabato. Both are deeply grateful for Little Blue Chair’s support for their education and career. Moreover, Maritess is an OFW who also sends appreciation to Little Blue Chair for her employment in Oman. In addition, Adrian Sarmiento who is a person with disability from Bulacan also expressed his gratitude. He shares, “They helped me financially. And when I was finally able to get a job, they also helped me with the accommodations. Thank you very much and hopefully, Little Blue Chair will be able to help more people.”
A PRODUCTIVE AND FULFILLING FIRST YEAR
The family patriarch and brother of Charlie, Rep. Mark Cojuangco, praises Little Blue Chair on its first anniversary. He says, “I’m so grateful to China who is trying her best to keep my brother’s memory alive. I understand that this charity, this philanthropy gives to underprivileged children and communities. You provide chairs for public schools, food for feeding programs, you support sports programs, you provide funds for church restorations, women’s correctional programs and the like. Ako naman, I’m trying to keep my brother’s memory alive through supporting football, by introducing the Carlos Cojuangco Memorial Football Club.”
