For this unique endeavor, leading contemporary artists had been invited to put their exceptional spin on Louis Vuitton’s Artycapucines bags, resulting in 22 distinct and one-of-a-kind designs that marry each creator’s unique voice with the brand’s sophisticated flair. Net proceeds from the sale of these bags would be donated by the French Maison to a charity or NGO of the artist’s choice, which includes UNICEF, as well as other organizations committed to poverty reduction, disaster relief, education, and refugee rights.
Named after the Parisian street of the first ever Louis Vuitton store, the Rue Neuve-des-Capucines, this ladylike classic finds itself metamorphosed into a veritable artist’s canvas. Witness as it emerges in a kaleidoscope of colors and textures, using time-intensive artisanal techniques indicative of the brand’s heritage of savoir faire. Each bag in this limited-edition collection will likewise be signed by the artist under the flap, and be presented in an autographed Boîte Chapeau, or a modernized hat box based upon one of the brand’s archival designs from 1924.
