The K-pop star will be the face of the French brand’s newest campaign.
Kim Taehyung (popularly known as BTS’ V) is Cartier’s newest global brand ambassador. The K-pop star will be the new face of the French luxury jeweler’s new Panthère de Cartier campaign.
The Panthère has been a creative signature for Cartier since her first sighting in 1914, featured on a watch with a panther-pelt pattern.
In a photo posted to Cartier and V’s social media, the singer is seen wearing a red suit jacket, sculptural diamond ring, and a Panthère de Cartier necklace made of white gold, diamonds, onyx, and emeralds.
“When it came to embodying the magnetism and aura of the panther, our choice naturally fell on V,” said Cartier senior vice president and chief marketing officer Arnaud Carrez.
“He has the look and strength of character. A personality whose choices are guided by creativity as a dancer, musician or art lover, with this style and this elegance that belong only to him.”
In a statement, the company continued that V “has the same creative spirit and magnetic gaze as the panther. These links of character make this artist, considered one of the most talented of his generation, an ideal Cartier ambassador to wear Panthère de Cartier jewelry creations.”
V joins the Cartier family with fellow K-pop artist Jisoo of Blackpink. She became one of the brand’s global ambassadors in May 2022.
During BTS’ hiatus, which started in 2022, the members have been signing with various luxury brands. In March of this year, Celine also named V as one of its global ambassadors . Meanwhile, his fellow member Jimin has partnered with another luxury jeweler, Tiffany & Co.
