The city where the urban skyscrapers that tower the streets meet the peaceful and tranquil temples will be hosting the 2023 Asia’s 50 Best Bars awards ceremony. The best bartenders in Asia will bring their talents to Hong Kong for the awards ceremony on July 18, 2023. The authoritative and prestigious award-giving body, known for spearheading cocktail trends and tastes, partnered with the Hong Kong Tourism Board to bring the event to the city.
Asia’s 50 Best Bars awards ceremony is one of Asia’s most significant celebrations of hospitality. Affirming Hong Kong’s position as Asia’s hub for cocktail experiences, according to Dr. Pang Yiu-kai, Chairman of the Hong Kong Tourism Board. With that in mind, the chairman looks forward to how Hong Kong would inspire the best talents in the cocktail and drinks industry in the region.
Familiar territory
Though this is the first time the event will be in Hong Kong, nightlife and drinks are not new territories for the city. In the crevices of the busy streets, Lan Kwai Fong, affectionately called LKF, serves as the leading entertainment destination in the city. A street filled with restaurants, bars, clubs, and everything in between, drinks and cocktails overflow alongside unforgettable experiences.

Mark Sansom, Director of Content for Asia’s 50 Best Bars, acknowledges that Hong Kong’s bar experience is one of the best in the region. “We are very excited to host the awards in Hong Kong this year. The city has one of the most dynamic and diverse bar scenes in Asia, and despite tight border controls in the last three years, it continues to lead with amazingly innovative bar experiences,” he said. Sansom also added that with hope, bringing the event to Hong Kong would bring back the spotlight on the city’s vibrant nightlife and contribute to driving travel and tourism.
Hong Kong, being the breeding ground for cocktail-making talent, is the ideal location for exchanging ideas among industry leaders. Having eight Hong Kong bars featured in Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2022, Hong Kong truly knows how to create an innovative drink and an unforgettable experience.
