Emmys 2022: ‘Squid Game’ Makes History, While ‘Succession’ Marks Successive Win

It’s a green light for Asian representation at the Emmys with Squid Game.

The 74th Emmy Awards have just concluded its live broadcast from the Microsoft Theater. Now, the results are in.

HBO’s family dynasty series Succession, this year’s most-nominated program, walked away with major awards including Outstanding Drama Series.

Though it was Netflix’s survival K-drama Squid Game that made history.

When the Television Academy released its nominations, Squid Game became the first non-English language show to receive its nod.

This time, Lee Jung-jae won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. He became the first actor from a non-English show to ever win at the Emmys.

Moreover, Hwang Dong-hyuk won Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series for Squid Game.
