The menu focuses on three core elements: steak, sushi, and izakaya (an informal Japanese bar that serves food and drinks). The kitchen is led by the restaurant group’s executive culinary team, Chefs Yonemoto Kazumasa and Richie Buenaventura. They bring their expertise in grilling techniques to the forefront, showcasing premium cuts of Wagyu beef and Tomahawk Ribeye. Sample their Wagyu Moriawase – a sampler of A5 Wagyu cuts with Kagoshima rib eye and striploin and Ohmi chuck eye. You can grill this on the table yourself or have it sent from the kitchen already cooked.

With four decades of culinary expertise, Yonemoto began as the Executive Chef at Tsukiji Sushi Kiraku in 1982, a stepping stone that led him to the prestigious kitchens of New York City. From there, he ventured to Tokyo, mastering the art of izakaya cuisine. With an eye for innovative recipes, he ensures each dish is a work of art, drawn from his experiences in the bustling culinary landscapes of Tokyo and New York.

Beyond its exceptional steakhouse offerings, Den by Nikkei dedicates itself to the art of sushi. The restaurant’s skilled sushi artisans craft a diverse selection of nigiri (oval rice ball with topping) and maki (roll) that uses the freshest seafood. Try the unique Maguro Foie Nigiri – a rice ball topped with melt-in-your-mouth foie gras and wrapped with fresh maguro (bluefin tuna). Seafood lovers will love their Gyokai (seafood) Platter with lobsters, snow crabs, scallops, and prawns. The Den Chirashi (literally translated to “scattered” in Japanese, it is seasoned sushi rice topped with ingredients like seafood, omelet, and seaweed) bowl is generously filled with seasonal fresh seafood and would make anyone’s tummy happy.

Guests can savor a selection of premium sake and cocktails to complement the small menu plates while unwinding in Den’s inviting ambiance of a vibrant izakaya as the day turns into night. The lights dim after dinner and the place is a great place to relax while sipping a cocktail or two.
DEN by Nikkei is located at Unit A3 & B4, Forbestown Road, Taguig City. They are open from 4:00 pm to 1:00 am Sunday to Thursday and until 2:00 am on Friday and Saturday.
