Air New Zealand was awarded Best Airline in the Pacific, Best Premium Economy, and Best Economy. It also just revealed its makeover and new products to be launched in 2024.

Best Lounges and Best First Class were awarded to Singapore Airlines for its six luxe suites at the front of the upper deck of their Airbus A380s, comparable to small hotel rooms.
Virgin Australia was lauded for Best Cabin Crew while Emirates was named Best Inflight Entertainment.
New categories were added to the list in 2022 with Best Environmental Airline taken by Etihad Airways, Best Cargo Airline by Korean Air, and Best Value Airline by Vietjet.
Best Regional Airline was awarded to Qantaslink in recognition of its exceptional work in the Australian outback.
JetBlue (Americas), Turkish Airlines (Europe), Qatar Airways (Middle-East/Africa), Korean Air (Asia), and Air New Zealand (Pacific) were awarded with Excellence in Long Haul travel, while Best Low-Cost Airlines are: Southwest (Americas), easyjet (Europe), Jetstar (Asia/Pacific), and Fly Dubai (Middle East).The prestigious Best Airline of the Year 2022 was awarded to Doha-based Qatar Airways, with Air New Zealand, Etihad Airways, and Korean Air in its trails.
The airline of the year was honored for its continuing innovation, product, industry leadership and commitment to ongoing global long-haul flights over the last 30 months during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Geoffrey Thomas, AirlineRatings.com Editor-in-Chief credits Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, Mr. Akbar Al Baker, saying it is Mr. Baker’s drive for perfection that resulted in many aircraft improvements and travelers are better off because of this pursuit of excellence. Thomas says, “Airline Ratings’ Excellence awards which highlight the world’s Best Airlines are aptly named, for, at every touchpoint, excellence is the goal at Qatar Airways led by Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr Akbar Al Baker.”
The airline rating also announced its Top Twenty Airlines in the World for 2022. Topping the list is Qatar Airways followed by Air New Zealand, Etihad Airways, Korean Air, Singapore Airlines, Qantas, Virgin Australia, EVA Air, Turkish Airlines, All Nippon Airways, Cathay Pacific Airways, Virgin Atlantic, Japan Air Lines, JetBlue, Finnair, Emirates, Hawaiian, Air France/KLM, Alaska Airlines and British Airways.
Only airlines with a seven-star safety rating and who demonstrate leadership in innovation for passenger comfort may vie for a seat in the top twenty. Thomas shares, we are focused on leadership and airlines that innovate to make a real difference to the passenger experience. Of course, right now the airline industry is under unprecedented pressure as it strives to recover from the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic.”
