FOODTRAY2GO Gives a Satisfying Break From Usual Meals - Lifestyle Asia

When food is shared, it just becomes more special. Fine ingredients have the potential to add unique flavor, but nothing can replicate the comfort you can taste from recipes shared through generations or the care you feel from thoughtfully-prepared, home-cooked food.

FOODTRAY2GO, led by millennial entrepreneur Melanie Lok, definitely gained new following over the past few years. But even as it thrived in the time of “quarantine businesses,” it isn’t new to the industry. Their food has been a well-loved staple in homes for the past 63 years. “The business started in 1956 by my grandma who loved to cook,” says Melanie.

What began at home was shared, over time, to other households, offices, and schools. Because of this, the dishes behind FOODTRAY2GO have a distinctly nostalgic taste. “A lot of our customers still remember our food and ask if it’s the same ones they had when they were young,” says Melanie. “We stay true to our original recipes, and of course, as the years go by, we also create new ones, always improving the quality.”

Everyday food you can look forward to

Because most of us do everything at home now, from working to coordinating errands to taking days off, preparing meals often becomes a time-consuming practice. Not only does FOODTRAY2GO give you a hand by doing all the work of cooking food for you and your family, it also always delivers its trademark home-cooked goodness, which one can never get enough of.

“We really want everyone to experience the convenience of a good, home-cooked meal at an affordable price, without the hassle of having to cook and clean,” says Melanie. “You just need to unwrap and enjoy.”

To help get started with their selection of over 200 dishes from Filipino, Asian, and Western cuisines, Melanie recommends some of their bestsellers like the beef salpicao, baked cheesy garlic prawns, baked salmon, fresh Chinese lumpia, japchae, and mango with sago. It doesn’t matter if you’re feeding a group for an intimate celebration, serving food for your daily family lunch, or just looking for something for yourself—FOODTRAY2GO gives you the option of getting their dishes in their signature food trays or as an individual meal.

Make room for what matters

With so much of our culture centered on eating, FOODTRAY2GO allows young professionals and families to experience the kind of delight you can only get from delicious food, while helping them give more of their time to their daily tasks. “Just leave the cooking to us, so you can spend more time on important things,” says Melanie.

One of the ways FOODTRAY2GO took part in contributing to the things that matter was by giving Filipinos an avenue to help fellow Pinoys at the start of the pandemic last year.

“We put our energies into accepting donations from anyone willing to help and we used those resources to feed medical front-liners who weren’t being properly fed, because of the overload in hospitals,” says Melanie. “We got to serve numerous hospitals and feed thousands of front-liners in Metro Manila. Filipinos always want to give a hand and we were thankful we got to provide a way for them to do so, while also doing our part to help.”
