An Italian fashion house and an American contemporary luxury brand collaborate for the 25th anniversary of an “it” bag.
In recent years, two fashion houses collaborating for a collection is a trend that is on the rise. From Louis Vuitton’s collaboration with Supreme, the Balenciaga and Gucci Hacker Project, and the recent Fendi and Tiffany and Co. collaboration, which were well received by the public, fashion aficionado or not. Another fashion collaboration is set to blow people’s minds again—Italian fashion brand giant Fendi in collaboration with contemporary fashion designer Marc Jacobs have come together for a capsule collection.
The collaboration would be part of the Italian brand’s Resort 2023 New York Fashion Week collection. The mixing of minds is in celebration of the 25th anniversary of Fendi’s iconic bag, or shall we say the iconic baguette. In the collaboration, Jacobs incorporates his signature aesthetics with the Italian fashion brand’s house codes.

For this collection, Jacobs combines ready-to-wear style from the turn of the century with contemporary themes from everyday life. Jacobs’ capsule line is reminiscent of New York’s “Gilded Age” particularly in terms of everyday nuances. The collaboration consists of a silvery, glittering, grey, white, fluoro yellow, and black palette. The collection exudes fantasy and each outfit from the collection truly is ethereal. The collection parades distressed denim pants and jackets in different palettes; also bannered in the collection is the hoodie that carries the eponymous branding of Marc Jacobs.
Aside from the amazing clothes from the collection, Jacobs’ interpretation of the legendary Fendi Baguette is also noteworthy. Taking his iconic branding from his namesake brand and putting it on the Fendi Baguette, Jacobs created a new twist to the already classic “it” bag. Local and international influencers have been posing with the new bag and posting it on Instagram.
The FENDI by Marc Jacobs Summer 2023 capsule collection will be available online and in stores starting on May 11.
