People reported Bishop released a statement saying the book entails her first steps onto a Broadway stage up to the town of Stars Hollow. Simon & Schuster’s website said the memoir spanned the actress’ six decades in show business. It contains her life starring in A Chorus Line and Dirty Dancing, apart from Gilmore Girls and other projects. She opens up too about her transition from dance to drama.
The book delves into her personal tragedies too. She married young to a gambler, promoted women’s rights, lost her second husband to cancer, and more. Her memoir contains her other losses and achievements and a genuine celebration of her life.

Memoir editor Hannah Braaten said Bishop’s long career encompassed numerous iconic moments and characters. “I’m thrilled to be the one to bring her whole life’s story to her countless fans,” she said.
