Renowned as the ‘Queen of Modern Chinese Cuisine’, May revolutionized the Hong Kong dining scene with her iconic restaurants Little Bao and Happy Paradise. Before she became the youngest recipient of the Asia’s Best Female Chef Award and featured on Anthony Bourdain’s Parts Unknown, she was a highly energetic child who was always found making something (and setting fires) in her mom’s Shanghainese home kitchen. Ever since she served her first Pork Belly Bao in 2013, they have been firing a nonstop arsenal of deliciousness to Hong Kong’s hungry public. Drawing from the richness of Chinese cuisine, they re-imagine Hong Kong comfort food while drawing inspiration from flavors and techniques all over the world.

Exclusive Taste

The exclusive set menu included one’s choice of a main dish (bao or fried chicken), a side dish, an ice cream bao, and a Little Bao signature cocktail or mocktail.

Little Bao Caesar Salad

There were two choices for the main course. The double-flamed Pork Char Siu Bao, made with a secret marinade and topped with homemade ginger scallion mayo and cucumber leek salad or the Szechuan Fried Chicken, which gives a thrilling “Mala” (numbing and spicy in Chinese) sensation, and keeps the meat succulent and tender without compromising on the extra crunchy skin.

Little Bao and Your Local’s Pat have teamed up on the Filipino Polvoron Ice Cream Bao topped with Calamansi Caramel, Pinipig Crumble, and Tultul Salt (the world’s only salt created with coconut cream).

Stir-Fried Beef Noodles Fries

For the signature cocktail, diners chose from the refreshing Kyoho G&T or the herbaceous Shiso Highball. Mocktail options are also available in the forms of Yuzu Maple Soda and Guavalada.

Exclusive Little Bao x Your Local merchandise was available during the event. Each set will also come with Little Bao x Your Local-branded freebies.

This collaboration was made possible with the help of the Fine Dining Club of the Philippines.
