Reflecting on his remarkable journey, Ruffalo humbly acknowledged his blue-collar immigrant roots and the unwavering support he received from his loved ones.
“There were times when I wanted to give up, but I had people who believed in me,” he reminisced. “This star is as much for them as it is for me.”
Accompanied by his beloved wife, Sunrise Coigney, and two of their three children – Bella, aged 18, and Keen, aged 22 – Ruffalo graced the auspicious event. The absence of their youngest, Odette, aged 16, was duly noted, as per People.
Jennifer Garner’s Heartfelt Tribute
Adding a touch of warmth to the ceremony was Ruffalo’s dear friend and fellow actor, Jennifer Garner.
Garner’s effervescent tribute, captured by Hindustan Times, was a delightful blend of nostalgia and admiration. “How lucky are we to have been in a movie that kids are still dressing up as for Halloween?” Garner exclaimed, fondly recalling their 2004 romantic comedy, 13 Going On 30.
Garner pondered whether her fellow actresses, such as Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Keira Knightley, shared her conviction. Did they believe that Ruffalo’s success in romantic comedies was attributed to his tousled hair and charming shirts? These factors, she mused, set him apart as a heartthrob for the next two decades.
With a playful tone, Garner continued, “I wonder if these esteemed ladies enjoyed Mark’s anxiety as much as I did?”
Garner also wondered if Ruffalo wanted to leave other movies, similar to how he did with theirs. She recalled the first “Thriller” dance rehearsal, where Ruffalo’s reactions shifted from surprise to restlessness to silence.
“To work with you, Mark, is to love you, I don’t care what anyone says,” Garner declared affectionately.
Mark Ruffalo’s Grateful Acceptance Speech
Ruffalo expressed his heartfelt gratitude. He dedicated his star to his children – Bella, Keen, and Odette. He acknowledged the profound lessons they’ve imparted to him about parenthood, masculinity, and the art of acting.
As per Hola!, Ruffalo’s induction as the 2,772nd honoree on the famed street was a testament to his enduring impact on the entertainment industry.
Additionally, he received a touching tribute from director David Fincher. They collaborated on the gripping 2007 crime drama Zodiac, as reported by The Business Standard.
This milestone celebration encapsulated not only Mark Ruffalo’s outstanding contributions to cinema. It also highlighted the enduring bonds of friendship and family that have supported him along his remarkable journey to stardom.
