Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs ignited a firestorm with a video showing him abusing Cassie Ventura. Now, Cassie speaks out for the first time.
Singer Cassie Ventura finally spoke out about the video showing her being assaulted by Sean “Diddy” Combs.
She posted a statement on Instagram, saying, “Thank you for all of the love and support from my family, friends, strangers, and those I have yet to meet. The outpouring of love has created a place for my younger self to settle and feel safe now, but this is only the beginning.”
She continues, “Domestic violence is the issue. It broke me down into someone I never thought I’d become. With a lot of hard work, I am better today, but I will always be recovering from my past.”

Ventura urged people to listen to survivors of domestic violence, saying, “It takes a lot of heart to tell the truth about a situation where you were powerless. I offer my hand to those still living in fear. Reach out to your people, don’t cut them off. No one should carry this weight alone.”
CNN published footage from a Los Angeles hotel in March 2016. The video showed Ventura waiting for an elevator, apparently trying to leave.
Combs, in a towel, chases after her, dragging, kicking, and shoving her. After the video’s release, Combs responded with a video statement on Instagram.
“My behavior in that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions,” he said. “I was disgusted with myself then and still am now. Sought professional help, including therapy and rehab. I asked God for mercy and grace. I’m deeply sorry. While I’m not asking for forgiveness, I am committed to becoming a better man every day.”
They dated on and off for nearly 10 years before officially ending their relationship in 2018. In November 2023, Ventura filed a lawsuit against Combs, accusing him of physical and sexual abuse during their time together.
