This is according to publishing company Simon & Schuster, which also served as the publisher for high-profile book deals like Bruce Springsteen’s Born To Run, Hillary Clinton’s Hard Choices, and Amy Schumer’s The Girl With The Lower Back Tattoo.

In fact, the memoir sold out at major retailers like Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Target, and Walmart within 24 hours of release. Independent bookstores also reported stocks depleting upon launch.

It has since become a New York Times Best Seller, reaching number one on the Combined Print & E-Book Nonfiction list. This is aside from becoming the number-one bestseller on Amazon.

“I’m overwhelmed by the incredible reaction to I’m Glad My Mom Died… I’ve also heard that the book is sold out in some places. I’m a hard copy kind of lady myself—and my publisher has let me know they’re doing everything in their power to restock the shelves asap,” McCurdy posted on social media a few days after her book’s release.

The memoir details McCurdy’s struggles including eating disorders, addiction, and a “complicated relationship with her overbearing mother.”

It also discusses how she retook control of her life.
