LA Exclusive: Dakota Fanning, Diana Silvers, and Ella Balinska Share Their Skincare Routines - Mirror,Mirror

All three actress actresses agree on the must-do step, which you should consistently practice, too.

Founded in Japan, luxury skincare brand Clé de Peau Beauté made its way to Manila last October.

Through a pop-up in Greenbelt 5’s luxury wing, the Shiseido brand arrived just in time for last year’s holiday season. Since 1982, Clé de Peau Beauté, or “the key to skin’s beauty,” utilizes “intensive research” by their in-house scientists for developing products to reach your skin’s optimal condition.

This year, to celebrate their 40th anniversary, they introduce their newest brand ambassadors, Dakota Fanning, Diana Silvers, and Ella Balinska. The brand describes the young actresses as “exceptional women” that uniquely “embody characteristics of Clé de Peau Beauté’s brand DNA; intelligent, uncompromising, and exquisite.”

In the House of Infinite Radiance, the brand’s own piece in the metaverse, Lifestyle Asia got to chat with Booksmart’s Silvers and Charlie’s Angels’ Balinska in a virtual sit-down.

As women in their mid-twenties, they’ve already evolved to knowledgeable beauty enthusiasts—which they credit working with talented makeup artists that prep their faces for being big-screen-ready to red carpets and even Zoom calls.

Japanese beauty

Balinska has learned that there is “different makeup for different things” due to makeup’s relationship with light. “When you know your light sources for the day, do your makeup accordingly,” the London native shares.

Interestingly, both actresses inclined Japanese beauty even before partnering with Clé de Peau. Silvers says she’s “scoured the internet” to find Japanese products like facemasks and pore strips influenced by makeup arts she’s worked with on-set. She considers Japan-made brands superior to American ones.

Balinska agrees and adds that she extensively researched kabuki makeup, which is Japanese theatre makeup that evokes the character’s emotions and personality in drama school.

On their most essential skin-scare step, the ambassadors exclaim that taking all traces of cosmetics off your face is something your skin will thank you for. Silvers, who’s been described as “Hollywood’s new darling,” says that it’s easy to get fatigued by working long hours, but taking your makeup off, resting, and drinking water is the best skincare upkeep you can do.

Holistic self-care

Fanning, who’s the youngest actor to be nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award, also swears by staying hydrated and cleansing your face thoroughly, along with mental self-care.

As someone who loves being under the sun, but knows how harmful UV rays can be, Clé de Peau’s UV Protective Cream is one of Fanning’s favorite products from the brand.

“I make a point to check in with myself about how I’m feeling and what I need. And I try not to be afraid to ask for help,” The 27-year-old tells Lifestyle Asia over email. On some of her favorite Clé de Peau picks, she lists the UV Protective Cream, their Softening Cleansing Foam, and their range of lipsticks—which she says is always in her makeup bag.

With the accomplished women all being under thirty, it’s safe to say that it’s never too early to start looking after your skin’s health—so consider this a reminder to never sleep with a full face of makeup again. After all, if jet-setting actors with hectic schedules can, you can too.
