A Taste of Thailand Takes Diners On An Authentic Flavor Tour

You can now indulge in your favorite Thai delights with the latest edition of The Admiral’s Travels culinary campaign.

Admiral Hotel Manila – MGallery recently unveiled the latest edition of its signature culinary campaign The Admiral’s Travels. Titled A Taste of Thailand, the experience will be taking guests to the titular Southeast Asian country: an apt choice for foodies considering its spectacularly flavorful cuisine. Inspired by the Admiral Club’s story of global exploration, The Admiral’s Travels campaign invites guests to embark on a gastronomic adventure, bringing back home and reinterpreting international flavors through the restaurant’s dining ateliers.

The Admiral's Travels A Taste of Thailand

“As the only hotel in Manila recommended by the MICHELIN Guide 2024, Admiral Hotel endeavors to elevate the gastronomic experience of its guests by bringing in world’s finest culinary artisans to Manila, in collaboration with Accor’s La Maison hotels worldwide,” shares Matthieu Busschaërt, Admiral Hotel General Manager.

Two Cultures, One Experience

The Admiral Club is offering a gustatory tour of Thailand throughout the month of April, serving a vibrant selection of the country’s beloved cuisine. And who better to take guests on this whirlwind adventure than Thai nationals themselves? Through a partnership with Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit and in collaboration with Esclusivo Inc., two talented banquet chefs from Sofitel Bangkok traveled to Manila to personally prepare and present signature Thai dishes at the Admiral Club from April 1 to 8, 2025.  After this period, guests can still enjoy their exclusive dishes, as they’ll be featured in the hotel’s lunch and dinner buffet spread until April 30, 2025.

Chef Narumol Intiya (also known as Chef Joy) leads the group with over 20 years of experience in her local cuisine. The Executive Sous Chef for Banqueting Operations at Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit began her career in 1991 at the prestigious Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok, where she honed her skills through multiple kitchen operations. She eventually rose to the ranks and joined Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit in 2017, leading high-profile events for Chambers of Commerce and Embassies, while showcasing Thai cuisine in countries like India, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Guam, and China, to name a few.

Supporting her is Chef Sakda Rangsoongnern (Chef Art), currently the Junior Sous Chef for Banquets at Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit. He’s a rising talent in Thai cuisine, specializing in event catering. Having started as an apprentice at the hotel, he has spent a decade honing his craft, gaining extensive experience in banquets and events.

A True Taste Of Thailand

The Admiral’s Travels: Taste of Thailand experience includes everyone’s favorite hot and sour seafood soup Tom Yum Goong; the smoky and savory Pad Thai (stir-fried rice noodles); the tangy, crunchy, and refreshing Som Tum (green papaya salad); the spicy Larb Moo (minced pork salad); and that lightly-sweetened tropical treat Tab Tim Grob (turnips in coconut milk), among many other mouth-watering offers.

Diners can expect a delicious spread that’ll transport them to the Land of Smiles with balanced, traditional flavors (dishes are spared from the oversweetness sometimes found in Thai restaurants within the country). There’s a slight kick to some meals, including the Tom Yum Goong—but it’s just enough to tickle the taste buds and give you a glimpse into truly authentic Thai cuisine. Let’s not forget Thai Iced Tea, served cold with condensed milk: a perfect pair to cut through all the rich flavors.

If you’re not in the mood for a full-scale meal, Admiral’s El Atrio Lounge is also offering a Thai Afternoon Tea package, complete with bite-sized delicacies like Tod Mun Pla (Thai fish cake) and Khao Niao Mamuang (sticky rice coconut pudding in plain, ube, pandan, and strawberry flavors), served with your choice of tea or coffee from their vast options.

It’s not a trip to Thailand, but it’s as close as you can get without stepping out of the country—and for anyone who loves Thai cuisine, that’s always a plus.

The Admiral’s Travels: Taste of Thailand and El Atrio Lounge’s Thai Afternoon Tea are available until April 30, 2025.
