Top Filipino Event Stylists Gather At Let's Celebrate Expo

This grand expo showcased various experts in the event industry over a whole weekend.

Let’s Celebrate! A Grand Events Expo is the first of its kind, gathering event stylists, organizers, caterers, and more under one roof all curated by Marbee Shing Go.

This isn’t your usual bridal fair. The expo promotes all kinds of events, from weddings and birthdays to pet parties and every important milestone under the sun.

The first edition took place last weekend, from September 21 to 22, at SMX Aura. SMX itself is now also open to hosting social events at its various locations, providing the ideal backdrop to bring any celebration to life.

The expo began with a ribbon cutting ceremony and a lively performance by Made to Dance. The group’s opening number started like a flash mob coming from the audience, then leading attendees into the main hall.

Caterers like Bizu, Juan Carlo, and Tjoie the Caterer offered special promos during the expo such as free upgrades and discounts. Then up on the second floor, there were play and photo areas for children and pets set up by Party Station and 4th Wall.

These industry experts inspired and advised guests on their next events, opening their minds further to all the possibilities for celebrations.

But probably one of the main highlights of the whole event was the gathering of 10 event stylists and their unique booths. Each of them are on the top of their game, from industry veterans to up-and-coming creatives.

Art of Design

These top event stylists were led by industry icons Gideon Hermosa, Michael Ruiz, and Teddy Manuel. As the crème de la crème of the wedding industry, the three have been making their mark in the industry both locally and internationally.

Many of the event industry’s rising stars studied under these masters and have honed their own unique style. During the expo, each one shared their vision of the future of celebrations.

Ruiz’s setup was the picture of drama and elegance, accenting red flowers with black and gold decor. Meanwhile, Nikki Chatto also followed a red theme, creating a romantic backdrop with flower arches, a bespoke bridge, and golden chandeliers.

Both booths had large LED screens to serve as a background. Ruiz’s played a looping video of scarlet flowers while Chatto’s showed a painting of a lake, as if her setup’s bridge led there.

Il Fiore’s Bhem Meijer was inspired by the orange hues of sunsets and autumn. Her booth featured handcrafted leaves and fresh flowers from Baguio. A piece of reflective surface on the ground represented a winding river, leading up to a round fixture just like the setting sun.

Hermosa’s booth was decorated from top to bottom in pinks and peaches. What stood out were the oversized, handmade blooms suspended from the ceiling and the dynamic LED screens in the background.

The setup by Miguel Bautista of Miels Event Styling was a vision in white. Flowing fabrics lined the walls and ceiling while creating a light and airy feel within the classically elegant space.

Embracing Nature

For Ginger Gaddi of Ginger Event Styling, fairytales were the source of inspiration for her magical booth. Her whimsical forest featured artificial flowers hanging from the ceiling, unique moss green chairs, and huge, handcrafted fairy wings.

Dave Sandoval’s space was fresh and light, while creating a soothing atmosphere. With a white and mint green color scheme, the booth also emitted the scent of eucalyptus leaves as a special touch.

Also employing hues of green, Manuel turned his own booth into a botanical beauty. Using elements like moss and leafy plants, it felt like stepping into a living and breathing terrarium. The white tiered cake in Manuel’s setup was designed by Mannix Peña of Cakes by Mannix.

Meanwhile, Blooms Event Styling was inspired by Monet’s depictions of seascapes. While keeping the Impressionist’s paintings in mind, their space featured ocean blues, sunset oranges and yellows, lush florals, and other flowing elements.

Lastly, Kyno Kho took the purple theme and filled his booth with various shades of flowers and drapery. With soft lavender to deep violet hues, the elegant space was also accented with white and gold pieces.

Each stylist offered a wide variety of possibilities for all kinds of important celebrations, all while showcasing their unique strengths.
