It was a humid afternoon at Cafe Fleur, the hip hotspot in Poblacion, Makati where nature and tropical ambience made it the perfect spot to unveil the brand new collection. The cafe served small bites like Pork Rillette on brioche toasts. Truffle Brie Tartelette with mushrooms and salmon tartare herb with creme fraiche on finger sized taco shells were passed around.
Aurea, a refreshing drink made of gin, cherry blossom, watermelon, lemon and mint was a crowd favorite, and so was the Spiced Dahlia, an alcohol based drink with tequila, pineapple, pumpkin, and lemon. For guests who did not want alcohol, there were two options: Yellow smoothie with mango, papaya, peach, jackfruit, and turmeric; and Green Smoothie with kiwi, honeydew, avocado, and lime.
As guests drank and nibbled, they looked around at the collection which was styled in the different spaces of the cafe. One can see that the collection explores two different and interconnected universes.
The first is inspired by nature, travel and reality to inspire the adventurous woman who is always ready to put on her boots before she starts exploring new paths. In this part of the collection, the Longchamp creative director, Sophie Delafontaine, uses natural materials, including linen, cotton and silk, while the color palette draws shades of beige, tan, and beige ecru in to make plants, flowers, and earth.
