CASA LOEWE has arrived in Manila and the international brand celebrated the store’s opening in Shangri-La Plaza. Society figures like Heart Ongpauco-Escudero and Juliana Gomez graced the event. They wore the latest collection that features the quality and elegant craftsmanship LOEWE lives and became known for.
Reminiscing Spain
The boutique took inspiration from LOEWE Madrid. CASA LOEWE has a grand central staircase and Valencian clay floors. However, both the European and local stores feature Spanish materials. These stores resemble an elegant apartment of an avid collector.
The exterior of the Shangri-La store features translucent green stones that make up a beautiful emerald green canopy. Inside, modern and traditional artworks decorate the spaces. These include a tapestry woven by Master Weaver and Textile Designer John Allen. There are other works from Fall/Winter 2018 stools and chairs, and Japanese-American artist Isamu Noguchi’s Akari E Light sculpture add a modern edge to the store. These designs and artworks echo the brand’s identity. LOEWE shows simplicity and elegance by marrying modern and antique styles in their stores and products.
Luxury in craftsmanship
LOEWE began with a group of leather craftsmen. Their passion and expertise in craftsmanship became the soul of the brand. It is handed down to generations. As time passed, the brand continues to develop quality pieces and leather goods through constant exploration. From experimenting with styles, the brand was able to craft its signature Puzzle, Hammock, and Gate bags.
The brand is well-known internationally, but it was only recently when Fashion Designer and former LOEWE Creative Director Jonathan Anderson brought the luxury to Manila. LOEWE gained loyal clients–from style enthusiasts to social media mavens like Heart and Juliana. Their beauty and refined style matched well with the latest pieces of the brand.
