The newlyweds share their thoughts and experiences behind their winter wonderland wedding.

Verniece Enciso and Alfred Dichaves first met 10 years ago at a mutual friend’s birthday party. Even though they weren’t expecting to meet anyone special, the two couldn’t seem to stop talking all night.
After knowing each other for only a couple of hours, Verniece immediately felt comfortable around Alf. When it was time to leave, Alf made sure they would keep in contact by asking for his future wife’s number.
“I did ask for her number at the end of the night because when we were introduced, my first impression was that she was a really attractive woman,” Alf tells Lifestyle Asia. “Then in our conversation that night, I felt we were really compatible.”
“We’ve known each other for 10 years, been best friends for eight years, and been officially together for five years,” Verniece says. According to her, they started dating after that first meeting but it only lasted for three months.
For some time, the two belonged to one friend group and stayed platonic. They even reached out to each other and the rest of their friends about their love problems. Then, after four years, the timing was finally right.
“We were both single and over one dinner, we had a heart-to-heart and talked about giving it another try,” Verniece shares. Her now husband adds, “I always knew that there was something between us, even when we were friends. So that one dinner, I’m happy we got to talk about it.”
“It was so much fun being in love and finally dating your best friend,” Verniece describes, when asked what their relationship was like at the start. “It felt right, and so many of the things I feared would not work in a relationship came easier because we were so open to each other and willing to work on our relationship.”
Even when busy with work, the couple found ways to spend time with each other, always game with trying new things. “We were so happy. When I asked Verniece to be my girlfriend, I already knew I wanted to marry her,” Alf says.
