Forbes released their list of America’s wealthiest women last month, which consisted of popular personalities in the entertainment industry. Among the women who made the cut are those from the music industry, all of whom showed amazing prowess and exceptional lyricism through their life’s work. Through resonating with their audience and achieving unprecedented sales, they had become 2024’s richest female musicians. They dominate charts and pursue ventures in business, endorsements, and investments. 

This year’s richest female musicians all achieved monumental success through consistently pushing boundaries. Here are the top five.

Celine Dion – $550 million

“My Heart Will Go On” singer Celine Dion made the Forbes’ prestigious list. A report from The Guardian stipulated that she canceled her shows for 2023 and 2024 due to Stiff Person Syndrome, a rare neurological disorder. The autoimmune disease is currently incurable. 

She revealed her sickness through a video which she released last December. However, she has a recent documentary project, titled I Am: Celine Dion, where fans will get to see her health struggles. BBC mentioned she said, “We have been working so hard to put this show together, because I’m back.”

Dion’s current net worth at age 56 is at $550 million with a self-made score of eight. 

Beyoncé – $760 million

Beyoncé ended her Renaissance World Tour in October last year, completing 56 shows in total. The “My Rose” singer made a total of $579.8 million throughout her tour dates, as per The Washington Post. She had a companion movie titled RENAISSANCE: A Film By Beyoncé, which raked in $44 million at theaters worldwide.

Beyoncé also released her eighth studio album, Cowboy Carter, in March this year. A report from CBS News mentioned that Spotify hailed it as the most streamed album in a day that month. It was also the singer’s biggest debut on Amazon Music. “16 Carriages” and “Texas Hold ‘Em,” two singles off her album, also broke records for topping the Billboard Country Charts. She became the first Black woman who landed on top.

Aside from these, Beyoncé also launched her own hair brand, Cécred, in February. The brand said its patent-pending technology, bioactive keratin ferment, enhances hair repair and replaces depleted proteins.

Madonna – $850 million

In October 2023, Madonna commenced her Celebration Tour in London, where she celebrated her music spanning 40 years. Reuters explained that the Queen of Pop postponed her shows, which should have begun in July, due to a near-fatal illness. She was diagnosed with a serious bacterial infection and was required to recover in intensive care.

Madonna performed more than 40 of her greatest hits. She opened her show with “Nothing Really Matters,” which she dedicated to her fans with the lyrics “I’ll never be the same because of you.” Her set list included songs like “Ray of Light,” “Like a Prayer,” “Holiday,” and “Like a Virgin,” among others.

She held her last tour at the Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in May. It became the biggest beach party as tourists and locals alike flocked to the venue as the singer declared it a “historic free concert.” More than one million people attended the show.

Taylor Swift – $1.3 billion

Taylor Swift is currently embarking on the rest of her Eras Tour, where she just ended at Cardiff in Wales, United Kingdom. She is gearing up for her next show at Wembley Stadium in London, which begins on June 21. 

The “Clara Bow” singer released her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, in April. Hours after, she added a second album called The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology, at 2 a.m. eastern standard time. These add 31 songs to her discography.

She added a Tortured Poets Department segment, consisting of the songs “But Daddy I Love Him!” “So High School,” “Who’s Afraid Of Little Old Me,” “Down Bad,” “Fortnight,” “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived,” and “I Can Do It With A Broken Heart.” She still performs surprise songs, which now consists of mashups from her various albums.

Swift celebrated the 100th Eras Tour during her performance at Anfield in Liverpool, England. She mentioned to the crowd that her shows have been “the most exhausting, all-encompassing, but most joyful, most rewarding, most wonderful thing that has ever happened” in her life. The singer made a vulnerable statement as well, saying it was the first time that she acknowledged the tour was ending in December. December 8 at Vancouver, Canada’s BC Arena would be her 152nd and last Eras Tour show as per Billboard.

Rihanna – $1.4 billion

Rihanna performed her greatest hits during last year’s Super Bowl halftime show. She was singing her song, “B**** Better Have My Money,” when she started rubbing her stomach and revealed her second pregnancy. CBS mentioned that her name and the word “pregnant” trended within minutes on X, formerly Twitter.

The “Umbrella” singer is a successful businesswoman who currently runs Fenty Beauty, It came from her name, Robyn Rihanna Fenty. The brand sold perfumes, make up, and skin care products. Rihanna added Fenty Hair to her endeavors, which launched on June 13. She disclosed in an Instagram post that the new line has been in development for over 4 years and had 400 people test the products. “Vegan, no sulfates or silicone!” she said. 

Rihanna’s current net worth according to Forbes is $1.4 billion and has a self-made rating of 10.
