The 41-year-old considers the collaboration a “dream come true.”
On Friday, Kim Kardashian appeared at Dolce & Gabbana’s Milan Fashion Week showcase to introduce her collaboration with the brand for Spring/Summer 2023. The video campaign, titled “Ciao Kim,” shows the reality star arriving in Milan via a private jet.

In one of the short advertisements, she’s welcomed with a large bouquet, which Kardashian holds on to until a swarm of paparazzi gets rowdy once she’s spotted. But how did the whole partnership, where the 41-year-old co-designs the collection, come to life?

According to Vogue, it began during Kourtney Kardashian’s wedding with musician Travis Barker last May. Held in Portofino, the bride wore a custom Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda mini-dress, while Kim wore her own vintage piece from the brand.

Ultimate muse
This sparked the interest of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, who realized Kardashian’s love for their label. In fact, the mother of four considers the collaboration a “dream come true.” She told the publication that her taste in style was heavily influenced by her mother’s wardrobe, Kris—which contains a lot of D&G.

“Kim Kardashian is the contemporary diva and the ultimate muse,” the brand writes in an Instagram post. “Her confidence, independence, and sensuality, along with her love for legendary #DolceGabbana pieces, inspired Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana to revisit the 90s and 00s archives for the #DGSS23 Collection.”
