The black tie dinner held at the SMX Halls was as much a welcome to country delegates of the Miss Universe Pageant as it was an opportunity for patrons and beauty contest followers to get up close and personal with them over a four-course dinner. Governor Chavit Singson, who is widely credited for making the international beauty contest happen in the country, acknowledged Kazuo Okada, SM Entertainment and Philippine Airlines, among several for the support extended to an event projected to boost Philippine Tourism. Performances led by the Madrigal Singers provided the evening’s entertainment while Via Mare plated the food. Many of the guests came away with a list of personal favorites for the top ten among the 86 candidates.
