His Reflection
Abalos, the Secretary of the Department of Interior and Local Government, has a long history of public service.
He has served as Chairman of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority and as Mayor and Congressman of Mandaluyong City.
When asked what message he would give to his younger self now that he’s older, he smiled and responded thoughtfully, as if speaking directly to his younger self, “It’s like this, everything I do now is for the kids to look up to, emulate, and benefit from in the future. That’s what we’re doing right now.”
As Secretary Abalos celebrates another year, he continues to inspire with his dedication to public service and his heartfelt approach to life’s milestones.
Politicians and Personalities
The celebration was filled with bright stars, from celebrities and well-known personalities to esteemed politicians. They all gathered to honor Abalos on his special night.
We asked some attendees about their own ways of celebrating birthdays. Kevin Tan exclaimed, “Like this! The big way.”
Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna kept it short and sweet, saying, “My favorite way? To celebrate it with my family.”
Senator Loren Legarda shared a different perspective, saying, “Communing with nature. Away from people, near nature,” she added with a laugh.
