An exhilarated first audience welcomed the Tony, Grammy, Olivier, and Pulitzer Prize winning musical HAMILTON to Manila at the Gala Night in The Theatre at Solaire.

The Asian tour of the international production kicked-off in Manila. Why Manila? Producer Michael Cassel says, “And the answer is, it’s a beautiful country. It’s a great thing to do here. But most of all, you have amazing audiences that embrace musical theater.”

“We’ve had a great joy to work with (local producer) GMG Productions over the last several years. Most recently, The Lion King back in 2018. And so, it’s a natural choice that the company will be assembled for the very first time here in Manila.”
Sam Sewell of GMG added “We are simultaneously very proud to be hosting the Asian Premiere of such a production, and at the same time, extremely humbled to be chosen as the very first stop of what will surely be an incredibly successful International Tour. This is a testament to the passion and enthusiasm of the Filipino fans.”
The international tour company, who was given a standing ovation, has been inspired by the enthusiasm of Filipinos. Fans have been waiting with great anticipation for performances since they announced the season in March.
Cassel added, “Good things come to those who wait. And I know Hamilton’s Filipino fans have been waiting patiently for this moment to arrive. The Manila audiences responded with such warmth, enthusiasm and generosity. We couldn’t be more thrilled and we are ecstatic to bring the revolution to Asia for the very first time.”
